of fair prices as well as social and environmental standards in developing countries to achieve greater equity in international
trade. The initiative sets a price to cover the cost of sustainable production of the product. The Fair Trade Premium is a
payment to the producer above the minimum price for investment in education, healthcare, farm improvements to increase yield
and quality or processing facilities to increase income. Fair Trade Standard relates to three areas of sustainable development:
